Positions for a graduate student (MSc or PhD) and a postdoctoral fellow are available in the laboratory of Dr. Patrick Provost to study the role and function of the ribonuclease Dicer and microRNAs (miRNAs) in human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) pathogenesis and cardiovascular diseases.
Our ongoing projects are funded by the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR) and aim at improving our understanding of the relationship between Dicer, miRNAs and two major health issues. For these studies, we employ a wide range of experimental approaches at the molecular, biochemical and cellular levels.
Doctoral studies (3 to 4 years) are to be performed in the Cellular and Molecular Biology Program at Université Laval, while the postdoctoral training opportunity is initially for a 2-year period, with the possibility of extension. |
